Dvsn (short for division) is a Canadian R&B/Soul dynamic duo that consists of singer Daniel Daley and producer/songwriter Nineteen85.

Anthony Paul Jefferies a.k.a. Nineteen85 was born on July 1, 1985 in Toronto, Canada. Jefferies was raised in the district of Scarborough with his parents. His mother is Jamaican and his father is Canadian which allowed him to grow up in a multicultural environment. As a child he took up Taekwondo and in his teen years he was a paper boy. Gospel music was the centerpiece for his household life which he draws a lot of his inspiration from.

At age 11 he had an epiphany that he was going to be the next Jimi Hendrix. Nineteen85 saved up all of his money and invested in a guitar and taught himself how to play. Throughout his teenage years, he performed in many different high school events and was even in a band called ‘Coffee Double the Cream’. Experimenting in every musical feature such as songwriting and recording is where Nineteen85 fell in love with producing.

Hits like Drake’s “One Dance”, “Hotline Bling” and “Hold On We’re Going Home” gave Nineteen85 his rank and star power in today’s game.

Unlike Nineteen85, Daniel Daley is a bit more of a mystery. There is no personal information out on Daley except that he is from Toronto, Canada and grew up in the Scarborough district as well. The two have been collaborating since 2010 and in 2015 they decided to form Dvsn.

After joining forces in 2015 they released their first single “The Line”. It received over 1.3 million plays but the track “With Me” is when Dvsn started to receive their rightful recognition. In 2016 the duo signed with OVO Sound under the rapper Drake and on March 27, 2016 they released their 1st R&B album on every musical platform entitled ‘Sept. 5th’.  The album was ranked 133rd on the Billboard Top 200 and 17 on the Top R&B Album Chart.

Recently, the group dropped their 2nd project ‘Morning After’ (streaming everywhere) on October 13, 2017. Daniel Daley and Nineteen85 are currently living in Toronto, Canada.
