Picking out the perfect costume for the night is all about making sure that it’s something fresh, new, and exciting, and that means being up-to-date on all of 2020’s best people and moments. DIYing a costume can save you some cash and give you the perfect excuse to repurpose those old pieces hanging in your closet. Take a pair of scissors to that worn-out floral dress, and before you know it, you’ll be Halloween ready. Or, maybe you want to take a simple costume from the store and add some fun flair to make it stand out.

If you’re still trying to figure out your costume before Halloween rolls around this month, there are so many creative, funny ideas out there that don’t require a ton of work or cash. You can DIY them, shop smart for some good deals, or get creative with clothes you already have in your closet. Whether you want to go all out with your costume or keep it casual, there’s a fresh and festive idea for every Halloween-lover.

Lucky for you, here’s a list of ten fun costume ideas that are sure to be a hit this year. From over-the-top performances like Beyonce’ at Coachella to iconic mummy costumes, these costumes will impress while not breaking the bank.

1.) Cruella Deville – If you want to be the iconic Cruella Deville from 101 Dalmatians, you’ll need a half-and-half black and white wig with a slim fitting black dress. Slim black dresses are easy to come by, but the wig can be found at your local Party City or on Amazon.

2.) Rabbit from Alice In Wonderland – This classical Disney character’s style can be recreated with items already in your closet. All you need is a white dress and a red blazer. Just add a blue bow, clock bag, and bunny ears, and you’re all set.

3.) Beyonce’ at Coachella – If you’re crazy in love with Queen Bey you should give her Coachella look a try. It’s so easy to pull together and gives you an excuse to sing Beyonce’ songs all night long. For this look, you will need a yellow hoodie, iron-on letters, blue jean shorts, and a honey golden wig.

4.) The Powerpuff Girls – If you and your best friends are looking for a costume, then The Powerpuff Girls would be the perfect outfit. You just need a pink, blue, and green outfit, meaning you probably have these looks in your closet already. If you want to go a step further with this look, you can all buy their signature wigs from Amazon.

5.) Grapes- If you are looking for a super fun, inexpensive costume dressing up as grapes is the best option. For this costume, all you’ll need is a bag of purple balloons and some fishing line.

6.) Normani’s “Motivation” Music Video Look – Normani’s cut-up T-shirt into a crop top and slim-fitting skirt will surely be one of the top Halloween looks this year. This look was so iconic, everyone’s going to recognize it right away. Plus, you can personalize it by writing your birth year on the shirt. To achieve this look, you’ll need fabric markers and a large white T-shirt.

7.) Mummies – Get creative with this one. All you need is a ton of gauze, and you can design your mummy look from there. Just make sure you have garments underneath in case of a wardrobe malfunction.

8.) Starbucks Drink – You can recreate your favorite drink in this adorable Starbucks costume. Just glue the iconic logo onto a tan coffee-colored dress, then top it with whip cream (a tulle skirt). Use an empty paper towel roll as a straw and paint it green.

9.) Angel – For Halloween, an angel is pretty simple to do. For this costume, all you’ll need is a halo and white dress. To add some extra flair, you can buy a pair of white angelic wings.

10.) Minions – If you’re looking forward to dressing up your kids, the Minions would be the perfect go to idea. To dress like the Minions from Despicable Me you’ll need a yellow sweatshirt, blue jean overalls, black gloves, goggles, and black slip-on shoes.

I hope these DIY costume ideas help. Here’s hoping you have a spooky Halloween.
