On Saturday, May 6, the Alcorn State University School of Agriculture and Applied Sciences, Office of Land-Grant Communications, will be saying farewell when three of its student media interns, KeAmber Council, Renita Lacy and Monique Mansfield graduate.

“Through this internship Alcorn State has provided me with the tools needed to succeed in Communications. For that I am very grateful for the interning opportunity and Alcorn,” Council expressed.
Having been with the School since September 2015 and graduating with a focus in Broadcast Journalism, Camden, Mississippi native, Lacy plans to use her experience gained during her internship working as a multimedia journalist for a local news station.
“Working for the School of Agriculture and Applied Sciences as a student media intern, I have learned that my field is one that prides itself on being accurate, credible and timely. Words cannot describe how appreciative I am for having had this opportunity,” says Lacy.
Mansfield, a Detroit, Michigan native, began her internship in April 2016. As an intern she has gained hands-on experience, taken leadership roles and built beneficial relationships while working as a student media intern. Following her stint at Alcorn State, she plans to attend film school.
“This internship has taught me about the numerous writing careers within different federal agencies, such as, the United States Department of Agriculture,” stated Mansfield.
