This week in entertainment news, Joey Bada$$ turned down a deal with Roc Nation, Drake’s new album is rumored to have an April release date, and Janet Jackson delays her “Unbreakable” tour.

First up, rapper Joey Bada$$ turned down a deal with Jay-Z’s Roc Nation. The Brooklyn emcee has had much success in his career landing a spot in the XXL Freshmen class in 2013 alongside some of the best Hip-Hop has to offer right now such as Schoolboy Q, Ab-Soul, Logic, Travi$ Scott, and Dizzy Wright, being cast in season two of USA Network’s Mr. Robot, and having his latest project ‘B4.Da.$$’ selling 50,965 in its first week. In an interview with DJ Whoo Kid, Bada$$ discussed the Roc Nation deal that almost was, citing Jay-Z’s book “Decoded”, as one of the reasons that he turned the deal down. Apparently Joey didn’t sign to his dream label, Roc Nation, because he wants to be Jay Z, saying “There’s this one chapter in “Decoded,” which is Hov’s book, where Jay Z went to meet with Russell Simmons to sign with Def Jam. He said his only thought sitting across the table from Russell Simmons was ‘I don’t wanna be signed to this n*gga, I wanna BE this n*gga.”

Next up, rapper Drake’s new album entitled “Views From The 6” is rumored to have an April release date. Back in January Drizzy officially announced that the album was real and would be released sometime in April without giving any further details. According to Pitchfork, the Toronto rapper’s new project is rumored to make its debut at the end of April. Since then Drake has released to new singles that are rumored to be on “Views From The 6” entitled “One Dance” and “Pop Style,” which features Jay-Z and Kanye West. With the new tracks dropping, billboards popping up, and artwork sightings in London, the hype for ‘VFT6’ is real.

In our final story, singer Janet Jackson delayed the second leg of her “Unbreakable” tour. The announce came Wednesday in the form of a 1:46 Twitter video in which she told the world of the “sudden change of plans,” which involve her husband Wissam Al Mana. She went on to say in the video “I thought it was important that you be the first to know. My husband and I are planning our family, so I’m going to have to delay the tour. Please, if you can, try to understand that it’s important that I do this now. I have to rest up; doctor’s orders. But I have not forgotten about you.” The tour was previously delayed because Jackson’s vocal cords had to be rested and she had to undergo a procedure which she didn’t specify but assured the world that she didn’t have throat cancer as rumored.
