This week in Entertainment news Chris Brown settles lawsuit over basketball fight and Vic Mensa signs with Roc Nation Records.
First up, singer Chris Brown settles a lawsuit over a fight that occurred last year during a basketball game. Malcolm Ausbon filed the lawsuit after the basketball pick-up game last year against Brown and three members of his entourage. They allegedly beat Ausbon up at one of the 24-Hour Fitness gyms in Los Angeles during the game. According to TMZ, Ausbon requested $250,000 and threatened to call the police if Brown did not come through with it. Chris Brown and his lawyer Mark Geragos settled things with Malcolm Ausbon but not at the requested price.
Lastly, rapper Vic Mensa signs with Jay Z’s Roc Nation Record label. If you are unfamiliar with Vic, he is a 21-year-old Chicago rapper who only has a mixtape and EP under his belt and has collaborated with the likes of Chance The Rapper and BJ The Chicago Kid and recently Kanye West for the hit single “U Mad.” Well now the 2014 XXL Freshman will be joining J. Cole, Rihanna, Jay Electronica, Rita Ora and the rest of his Roc Nation brothers and sisters. In an interview with Power 106, Vic said, “I’m working on a new project called Traffic that’s coming soon. It’s like stories of my life- a lot of my most personal moments- most vulnerable moments. And I’m really excited for the people to hear the music. There’s vibes like ‘U Mad’, a lot more introspective [censored]… just a lot of textures.” Congratulations to Vic Mensa and good luck on your next project.
